NFL COACHING EXPERIENCE

Pat’s Take: If you ask me, Glenn is a clear-favorite for the job in New Orleans. The Lions’ DC played there and coached there after retiring. Go back and watch Hard Knocks when the Lions were featured. Glenn was quiet and confident, but unafraid to get loud when it was needed. He comes across as an elite locker room leader, but maybe that’s the Dan Campbell effect. I’m sure New Orleans will do well with Glenn, but for the Bears to hire another first-time head coach with a defensive mind, it feels like a risk.

Here's the reality of the situation for the Bears: Glenn interviewed via Zoom with Chicago on Saturday after Ben Johnson. He, like Johnson, won’t be able to sign with a new team until at least Jan. 27 and potentially longer if Detroit makes a run to the Super Bowl. My expectation? Should the Lions represent the NFC in the big game, Glenn won’t even have to leave New Orleans afterward.
