Hoge’s Take: While there’s some buzz about Weaver as a head coaching candidate, his candidacy appears to be a bit of a stretch in terms of qualifications. Certainly his assistant head coach title under John Harbaugh should be taken seriously, but Weaver does not have a large history of winning despite over 20 years in the NFL as a player and coach. And while he might be an alpha leader, he’s never been a head coach before.
