📓
OVERVIEW

5-year college starter at three different programs, starting at the FCS Level at Incarnate Word before transferring up to Washington State and eventually Miami. Twitchy athlete who can create on his own but also has shown improved patience and skill to win from the pocket as a super senior. Good arm to make all the throws. Accurate fast ball thrower who can continue to improve his touch to all levels. This is a player who made strides in his fifth year and has the makings of an NFL starter, but his volatile style of play will likely need to be reigned in by well-designed scheme in order to level out his style of play.

Usage/Body Type/Play Personality
- Lined up almost always in the shotgun. Some under center looks in the run game.
- Below average height with above average weight
- Just 9’’ hands, but that never proved to be an issue - even playing at Washington State
- There's a non-chalant-ness to him. Always seems cool and in control; almost lax at times with how calm he plays, even in critical moments.
- "The throws he makes and his ability to extend the play." - Cal CB Nohl Williams on why Ward was the toughest player he saw in a game last year
- Has generated impressive comebacks in the 4th Quarter throughout his career. Coaches have told media members that he plays ‘with a low heart rate.’
- Respected leader; teammates and coaches speak very highly of him publicly and behind the scenes.
- “I was always having throwing sessions with Cam after hours. If we had a rough practice and we didn’t complete passes that we knew would be big in the game plan, all of the receivers and tight ends and Cam would go get extra balls after practice just to get a feel for it. And like, if we were playing a team that’s going to blitz him, he’d want to throw off-balance throws, off-balance go balls or slants just to give himself the same kind of look that he’s going to get in the game.” - Miami WR Sam Brown (Shrine Bowl)
- People that have been around him at Washington State speak highly of his character
- Did not work out at all at the Scouting Combine

Physical Tools
- Twitchy athlete. Extremely slippery in the pocket. Able to get out and create at a high level. Very comfortabe throwing on the run; he's not just looking to scramble when he takes off.
- No athletic profile (choice)
- Arm strength to rip throws to any part of the field. Can stripe throws down the seam and make firm passes outside the numbers downfield.

Pre-Throw
- Had some pre-snap authority as early as Week 1 in a new offense at Miami.
- Showed command of the offense pre- and post-snap; more than he appeared to at Washington State where he played more out of structure. Gets through his reads; sees the field well.
- Has had issues with INTs throughout his career and he'll definitely push the limits of tight-window throws. Has shown increased ability to recognize secondary rotations as a super senior.

Passing Skillset
- Really twitchy release; multiple arm slots on command. A bit lax with his lower half at times.
- Willing to pull the trigger on tighter throws over the middle or downfield
- Mostly an accurate thrower; the ball placement isn't perfect, especially on the move, but he puts it where he wants to.
- Touch at all levels is solid, at best. Lot of fast balls. Examples are out there of touch at intermediate area.
