📓
OVERVIEW

2-year starter up front for the Cats with extensive reps at both RG/RT. Requiste athlete. Has good pass protection tools to hold up on the inside at guard but would be stressed as a tackle. He's a bit more of a work in-progress in the run game, where he flashes power but his pad level, timing and hands can all be a bit sloppy. When he's isolated on an island that's where he struggles most often. Has the look of a starting guard who projects best in pass pro where he has the quickness, anchor and technical proficiency to hold up against quality interior rushers. In the run game he appears to be adequate but may be better in the NFL because of the scheme he comes from.

Usage/Body Type/Play Personality
- Played primarily in a 2-point stance at tackle with more 3-point looks inside at guard. Lot of wide splits in their former offense.
- Solid height with a thick frame; he's built like a guard
- Goes for the kill but not really a mauler at the point of attack
- Extensive experience at both tackle and guard, all on the right side
- Did a pretty good job in his position work at the Combine. Looked smooth in the Wave Drill, did a good job in both of his Pass Rush Drops, and looked solid on the move. Wasn't one of the best five workouts in the group, but I thought he did a good job.

Physical Tools
- Solid athlete overall. Active feet in pass pro and is able to redirect on command. Shows the ability to gear up and down and govern his speed but lacks the range needed to protect the corner vs NFL speed off the edge. Gets really stressed on an island and his technique suffers.
- More strong than powerful. Stout on contact vs bull rushers and never really saw him overwhelmed. Flashes the ability to create movement on double teams.

Pass Game
- Anticipates post-snap movement well and is able to react to stunts and twists efficiently
- Flashed the use of independent hands, particularly at tackle. At guard he relied more on 2-hand punches and grabs.
- Aggressive setter; typically punches first. When he throws his hands his feet don't stop.
- Good timing with his anchor

Run Game
- Impressive grip strength when he does eventually lock onto defenders.
- Used at the second level in both gap and zone schemes. When he's on the move he tends to be over-aggressive and go for highlight shots vs smaller defenders.
